McDonalds Angus Burgers

August 7th, 2009

Ok, having a long time addiction to the occasional McDonalds visit, I have now tried all 3 of their new 1/3 lb Angus Burgers.  And they aren’t bad.  I do like the 1/3 lb option.  The quarter pounder is sometimes just a bit shy of being filling and the double quarter pounder makes me ill.  So the 1/3 lb size – great idea.

However, before I give them an A, at best I’d have to give them a B.   Maybe B+ if I was really hungry.

The Angus Deluxe comes with tomatoes, onions, lettuce and is probably their best burger.

Although the new decadent Bacon and Cheese Angus is very tasty and a good way to get your bacon burger fix.

The mushroom and swiss was just plain disappointing.  The one I ate had practically no flavor.  I don’t know how you make a burger taste like nothing at all, but the mushroom and swiss was almost completely tasteless.  And I mean that.  No zip, couldn’t even really taste the mushrooms or the swiss.  No ketchup, and even the mayo had no flavor.  It was not only a very boring burger, but it was just plain weird for it not to have any flavor.

So all in all I’d give the new McDonalds Angus burgers an A for effort and portion size and a B for overall taste.  Worth trying?  If you like burgers, then yep, worth trying to judge for yourself.
